Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 July 2026

Vibe Map is run by Jacob Sproul, an individual based in Lakewood, Colorado, USA. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Jacob Sproul; "you" means you.

By using Vibe Map you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it. We've written this in plain language rather than legalese — if anything is unclear, email lovebassjake@gmail.com and we'll explain it.

Our Privacy Policy covers what we collect and what we do with it, and forms part of these terms.

What Vibe Map is

A creative briefing tool. You draw an energy arc, set a mood, import shot lists and storyboards, share a brief with a composer, and review demos. It's a way to communicate musical direction — it isn't a digital audio workstation and it isn't a music licensing service.

Vibe Map is currently free. There's no paid plan, so there's nothing to pay, cancel or refund. If that changes, we'll say so clearly before charging anyone anything.

Your account

You can use much of Vibe Map without an account. If you sign in, we use a magic link sent to your email — there's no password to lose.

Keep your email account secure; anyone with access to it can sign in as you. Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using your account.

Your content

You own what you create. Your arcs, briefs, notes, scene markers, uploaded audio and video, and everything else you put into Vibe Map remains yours. We don't claim ownership of any of it.

You give us permission to store, copy and display your content only as far as is needed to operate the service for you and for the people you share it with — nothing more. No advertising use, no training AI models on it, no selling it, no showing it to anyone you haven't shared it with.

You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload. This matters more here than in most tools, because Vibe Map is used with client footage, rough cuts and music. By uploading something, you're confirming you have the right to upload it and to share it with the people you share it with. Please don't upload material you don't have permission to use.

If you believe something on Vibe Map infringes your copyright, email lovebassjake@gmail.com with enough detail to identify the work and where it appears, and we'll review it and remove it if appropriate.

Sharing works by link — understand what that means

Vibe Map is built so clients and composers don't need accounts. Anyone who has a link to a session, brief or delivery can open it. There's no password on those links, and if they're forwarded onward they keep working.

That's a deliberate design choice, and it's the right one for how editors work — but it means a link is a credential. You're responsible for who you send links to and for what happens if they're forwarded. Treat them the way you'd treat a Google Drive "anyone with the link" URL.

Acceptable use

Don't use Vibe Map to:

  • upload or share anything you don't have the rights to,
  • upload anything unlawful, or content designed to harm or harass someone,
  • try to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the service or other people's data,
  • scrape it, resell it, or run automated abuse against it,
  • get around technical limits like rate limits or upload caps.

If you find a security problem, please tell us rather than exploiting it. We'll take a good-faith report seriously and won't come after you for it.

The AI features

Arc generation, shot-list import and storyboard import send what you submit to an AI provider and return a result. Two things you should know:

Output isn't guaranteed to be original, accurate or usable. AI can produce something that resembles existing work, misread a document, or simply get it wrong. Check anything before you rely on it, and especially before you hand it to a client.

We make no claim about whether AI output can be copyrighted. Law in this area is unsettled and changing. If that matters to your project, take proper advice.

Availability, changes and termination

Vibe Map is a small product run by one person. We'll try to keep it running and to keep your work safe, but we can't promise it will always be available, and we may change or remove features.

Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose. Vibe Map isn't a backup service. Note that sessions created without signing in are throwaway by nature and may be cleared out — if you want work kept, sign in.

You can stop using Vibe Map at any time and ask us to delete your account and your content. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering the service — if we shut it down, we'll give reasonable notice so you can export your work.

No warranty

Vibe Map is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that it will meet your needs.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost work, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to your use of Vibe Map.

Because Vibe Map is free, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us, which is zero, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Your responsibility

You agree to cover us for claims and costs arising from content you upload, from your use of Vibe Map, or from your breach of these terms — in particular, claims that something you uploaded infringed someone's rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you and we agree to those courts having jurisdiction.

Nothing here takes away consumer rights you have under the law where you live that can't be waived by agreement.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll say so on the site. Continuing to use Vibe Map after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Miscellaneous

If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something straight away, that isn't a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about Vibe Map.
